Moose Legion 8 back in action.
On the 10th of August 2021 Moose International Legion 8 were able to hold their first meeting since March 2020 at their home in the Winscombe Community Centre. Although there have been several Legion 8 Zoom meetings held over the past few months, which were a very welcome way to keep in touch however, they cannot compete with meeting face to face
The meeting was well attended with 18 legionnaires present. We were able to follow our usual programme of events for the evening beginning with a wonderful fish and chip supper supplied by the local Winscombe Fish Bar, everyone enjoyed the meal, and we must thank them for fulfilling such a large order in a timely manner.
Immediately after the meeting was formally opened, we commenced the much-delayed installation of Legion Officers for 2021/22. The abridged ceremony was conducted efficiently and in a professional manner befitting the occasion and we thank the installation team for their efforts. The newly installed Officers then resumed normal business after our 15-month enforced sabbatical.
Overall, everyone was happy to be able to see each other again and thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we thank them all for coming along.
Unfortunately, we are acutely aware that life is not able to fully go back to normal just yet so we will be keeping a close eye on the pandemic situation and will adjust our procedures accordingly. However, we are currently looking forward to forging ahead with our popular social and fundraising events and foresee a bright future indeed for Moose Legion 8.
