Downers Grove 1535 - UK Committee

An inaugural meeting took place on Wednesday 12th February at Winscombe Community Centre to discuss setting up a UK committee of Downers Grove members. 6 members of Downers Grove 1535 were in attendance.

With the approval of the Downers Grove Board of Officers, it was agreed that we set up such a committee and after lengthy discussion it was agreed that we should call the group
                                                                      ' Moose International Downers Grove 1535 UK Committee.'

The aims and objectives of the Committee would be:-

​

1.     To create a public awareness of Moose International world wide with particular
         emphasis on Burnham-on-Sea Lodge 123, UK Moose Legion 8 and Downers Grove
         Lodge1535.

2.     To create and strengthen bonds of friendship between Lodges in America and the
        UK, particularly between Burnham 123, Legion 8 and Downers Grove 1535.

3.     To promote and further the aims of Moose International through good
         communication practice to include the use of Amateur Radio.

4.     To encourage closer liaison between our Lodges by:-

        a.       Producing a scrap book of events to share.

        b.       Exchanging reports and photographs.

        c.       Encouraging the use of Facebook to promote and report on activities.

        d.       Promoting the use of Skype in communications between Lodge members.

It was unanimously agreed that we appoint the following officers:

Monthly Meetings are held at 7PM prior to the Legion meeting at 7:30PM
