Social Club 123 Rules

RULES OF THE BURNHAM ON SEA 123 CLUB


1)    The name of the club is the Burnham on Sea 123 club.

​

2)    The object of the club is for the social activities for lodge members, Ladies circle and visiting Moose International.

​

3)    The club shall be under the supervision of the elected bar management committee.

​

4)    The bar management committee may call a general meeting upon fourteen days notice. Members may call a general meeting provided that not              less than ten members request such a meeting in writing stating the reason(s) for doing so and that fourteen days notice is given.

​

5)    The elective committee shall consist of not less than four members of the club.                          

       Those members shall be – The Chairperson, the Vice chair, Bar manager/ Treasurer, Secretary and two floor members.

​

6)    The club shall have not less than twenty-five members.

​

7)    The membership of the club shall consist of all brethren of the Burnham on sea lodge 123 and the Ladies Circle who are in good standing                        together with their families.

​

8)    Visiting brothers, Ladies and their families may be admitted as honorary members on the occasion of their visit. Details of each visitor shall be              entered in the register, stating name and address of each guest and the signature of the member signing them in. No member may bring more              than four guests into the club and such guests will be permitted to purchase intoxicating liquors. No guest will be permitted to visit the club on             more than eight occasions in each calendar year. A register will be maintained giving details of each guest.

9)    No person shall be admitted to membership of the club under the age of eighteen years of age.

​

10)     No intoxicating liquor will be sold to, or for consumption by any person under the age of eighteen years.

​

11)     No intoxicating liquor shall be sold or supplied other than to :-
                1/  Members and their bona fide guests
                2/  Visitors admitted in accordance with rule 8.

​

12)  The permitted hours for the sale of intoxicating liquor shall be between the hours of 14.00hrs &    
        18.00hrs and 19.00hrs & 23.00hrs.
        These hours not to include Sundays, Christmas day or Good Friday. The permitted hours to be 
        displayed within the club.

​

13)  No intoxicating liquors shall be supplied by or behalf of the club for consumption off the 
        Premises except to a member in person.

​

14)  These rules may be altered or varied from time to time by the elected bar committee.
        

15)   If at any general meeting a resolution for the dissolution of the club shall be passed by a   
        majority of the members present and such resolution shall at a special general meeting held not 
        less than one month thereafter be confirmed by a resolution passed by a majority of two 
        thirds of the members voting there on, or at some future date as shall be specified in such 
        resolutions proceed to release the property of the club and after discharge all of the liabilities
        shall divide the same equally among the members or Moose welfare or designated charity
        and upon the completion of such division the club shall be dissolved.
